Solving the Two-Crane Scheduling Problem in the Pre-Steelmaking Process

چکیده

This research is motivated by the practical pre-steelmaking stage in large iron and steel companies, which have steady heavy demands for steelmaking production process. Our problem studied stage, consists of two steps that are needed each convertor before During step, a necessary transportation must be operated crane. In contrast to classical two-machine flowshop during both machines fixed, these transporting operations performed mounted, removeable cranes. scheduling two-crane sake minimizing last convertors’ completion time (makespan); is, finish among total operation cranes minimized. study was concerned with resolving interference between determining sequence loading how crane avoids other order let it complete its next first. A mixed integer linear programming (MILP) model developed represent problem, we further present computational complexity problem. The result implies our very difficult solve, computationally challenging solve model. special case provided, can optimally solved polynomial time. Furthermore, an evolutionary algorithm cuckoo search (CS) attempted obtain near-optimal solutions medium- large-scale problems. Finally, efficiency effectiveness methods were validated numerical results simulated instances as well real data from

Cat swarm optimization for solving the open shop scheduling problem

This paper aims to prove the efficiency of an adapted computationally intelligence-based behavior of cats called the cat swarm optimization algorithm, that solves the open shop scheduling problem, classified as NP-hard which its importance appears in several industrial and manufacturing applications. The cat swarm optimization algorithm was applied to solve some benchmark instances from the lit...

Integrated modeling and solving the resource allocation problem and task scheduling in the cloud computing environment

Cloud computing is considered to be a new service provider technology for users and businesses. However, the cloud environment is facing a number of challenges. Resource allocation in a way that is optimum for users and cloud providers is difficult because of lack of data sharing between them. On the other hand, job scheduling is a basic issue and at the same time a big challenge in reaching hi...

An Estimation of Distribution Algorithm for Solving the Quay Crane Scheduling Problem with Availability Constraints

This work addresses the Quay Crane Scheduling Problem under availability constraints, whose main goal is to determine the work schedules of the quay cranes allocated to a container vessel in order to carry out its transhipment operations (loading and unloading operations). An Estimation of Distribution Algorithm with shaking procedure is proposed to solve it. The position of the tasks and the o...
